Our Carving Chisels are hand forged from S7 and receive a multi part differential hardening process that makes them not only strong but incredibly safe for hot and cold workloads.
3/16” eye
Forged centre
For small horses, nail faces & mice
The small eye punch is forged to create a roughly 3/16” eye. The centers of this eye punch are forged, not drilled, so that the cone shaped indentation in the center of the eye punch can aid in the effect of creating a pupil. The small eye punch is used for small horse, nail faces, mice and various other carvings.
Drilled center of the eye
Can create vivid pupil
For animal heads & faces
The medium eye punch is the most commonly used and creates a roughly 1⁄4” eye. Like the small eye punch, the center of the eye is forged, not drilled, allowing for the creation of a pupil. Furthermore, the small eye punch can be used on an eyeball made by the medium eye punch to make a very vivid pupil. The medium eye punch is used for many varieties of animal head, faces such as wizard head, and other carvings.
Useful
Create eye of a flower
Tight scoop
The large round eye punch is a very handy tool. While a 3/8” eye is often too large for most hand-carved faces unless scaled up, it works very well to create many good elements such as the eye of a flower, the laid back ears of a mouse, and can even be used as a tight scoop.
Teardrop punch
Ideal for a duck's eye
Useful for frogs & small snakes
The small duck eye is a teardrop punch that will leave a small raised center to represent the duck eye while the teardrop depression acts as the shading around the duck’s eye, killing two birds with one stone. It is normally used on ducks made of 1/2” and 5/8”. It is also useful for some frogs and small snakes.
For impression work
Ideal for a big duck's eye
Good for petals and leaves
As ducks tend to be a little bit on the goofy side anyway, you can never put too big of an eye on a duck. This punch also makes for good petals and leaves for chase pieces and on impression work.
Oval shaped with diamond eye
Create aggressive eyes
For wolves, birds, snakes & horses
Wolf eye punches are oval-shaped with diamonds as the eye or as the pupil. This provides a very aggressive looking eye that is perfect not only for wolves but also predatory birds, snakes and even very serious horses.
Strength of a crowbar
Cutting edge of a razor blade
For cuttings in ears & long flowing whiskers
Whether you’re cutting off a wire thin tendril or carving in a deep curving line, the fast cut chisel gives you the strength of a crowbar with the cutting edge of a razor blade. Used for cutting in ears, carving out long flowing whiskers, and even splitting down bar stock; the fast cut chisel is a must have from our carving set.
Cut off a thin slice
Sharp corners
For crisp lines & typed letters
The straight chisel can cut off a thin slice like the fast cut; its sharp corners give it the ability to put a good hard ending on a line. The straight chisel is used heavily where crisp lines are needed in carving or in the chasing of typed letters and numbers.
Blunt chisel with curved blade
Ideal to bite in & push material along
For big teeth
The small bucktooth butcher, roughly 3/8” across, is a blunt chisel with a slightly curved blade. Good for biting in and then pushing material along. Named for its use in carving in and pushing out big square teeth.

Good for biting in
Scaled up version
The large bucktooth butcher is roughly 1/2” across and is a scaled up version of the small bucktooth butcher. Good for biting in and then pushing material along. Named for its use in carving in and pushing out big square teeth.
Draw scrolls & circles
Troughing action
For gills or scales
The small scoop chisel is a butcher ground blade forged around a roughly 3/4” radius. It can be used in chasing to draw scrolls and circles. For carving, it can be used on one side for a troughing action or flipped over to the other side to cut in and push up a curve, such as the gills or scale on a fish or dragon, or to give the representation of folds in long flowing hair.

Troughing action
For folds of hair
The large scoop chisel is a butcher ground blade forged around a roughly 1” radius. It can be used in chasing to draw scrolls and circles. For carving, it can be used on one side for a troughing action or flipped over to the other side to cut in and push up a curve, such as the gills or scale on a fish or dragon, or to give the representation of folds in long flowing hair.
Aggressive
Makes a nice dimple
For nostrils and stippling
The small ball fuller is based on a 3/16” sphere that tapers out into a cone. It is aggressive enough to start an indentation on a steep curve. As well as making a nice dimple, it can be used to be the start for a larger ball fuller. Normally used for nostrils and stippling.
Effective
For complex curving shapes
Essential for faces
The teardrop punch is an all around useful tool to create complex curving shapes, a must have for faces. The large side of the teardrop is nearly a 1/2” sphere tapering down to a fine tip on the other end.
For impression work & chasing
To create value
Produce an illusion of depth
The small angled square set hammer is roughly 3/8” and used mostly in impression work and chasing for driving down one side of a cut line to create value or the illusion of depth.

Make a line in steel
Variety of carving & chasing
For mule's ears & owl's eyes
The small fuller is based around a roughly 3/16” radius allowing you to make a line in a piece of steel without cutting it. Fullers are used in a wide variety of carving and chasing work from the hollows of a mules ears to the texture around an owl’s eyes.

Finest
Low profile
High visibility & flared grip
This center punch is by far the best center punch you can buy! With its low profile for high visibility and flared grip, you can use it to make marks on a precision layout and then turn around and drive it deep into hot steel.
Hand-forged
Create a swell
Start an indentation
The offset center punch mark is perfect for starting an indentation in a piece of steel straight on and then dropping the angle of the chisel and driving along the surface of that piece of steel to create a swell as it plows though.
Rugged forging
Hybrid of palm & tap engravers
For fine detail in engraving & chasing
The engraver in this set is a hybrid of a palm engraver and a tap engraver. Forged in the same rugged manner as the rest of this set, this tool is capable of breathtakingly fine detail in engraving and chasing.
